Fourth in the qualifying round for 3-year-old stallions at Saint-Lô with a score of 17.5 in mounted jumping, Merak d’Helby was then approved as a stallion during testing.
His sire, Armitages Boy, enjoyed a magnificent career under the saddle of Aymeric de Ponnat, with whom he won the Nations Cups in Gijon in 2012, Lummen in 2013 and La Baule in 2014, as well as the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona in 2013, the year in which he represented France at the European Championships in Herning. He then joined the Stephex stables, where he was ridden by Lorenzo De Luca, with whom he won the Nations Cup in St. Gallen and took third place in the World Cup Grand Prix in Leipzig and the Nations Cup in Rotterdam. His offspring compete at the most prestigious show jumping events, notably the incredible Foxy de la Roque.
His dam, Etoile BL Z, is a daughter of one of the world’s best damsires, the Olympic Chin Chin, from the famous Toscane line. His grandmother is none other than the former French champion of 7-year-olds who competed in Grand Prix with Nicolas Delmotte, Karla de Toscane, who is the full sister of the great international performer Jadis de Toscane and Olympic team champion Rahotep de Toscane. This is one of the most prolific lines in the Selle Français breed.
