His sire Emerald van’t Ruytershof enjoyed an exceptional career under the saddle of Harrie Smolders. He performed well from a young age, notably becoming vice-world champion for 6-year-olds before competing at the highest level, winning the 5* Grand Prix in Chantilly and Washington, as well as the Nations Cups in Aachen and Gijon. He also competed in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he was a finalist after coming second in the World Cup final the same year. Today, his offspring continue to shine at the highest level.

His dam, Kirby de Muze, competed at Grand Prix level herself. A full sister to the performers Nimrod and Morfine de Muze, she is also the half-sister of the phenomenal Levis de Muze. She is descended from the great performer Héroine de Muze, who won at the highest level under the saddle of Taizo Sugitani, herself a daughter of the incredible Excellentia de Muze, dam of so many champions and descended from the legendary Qerly Chin.
