His sire Emerald van’t Ruytershof enjoyed an exceptional career under the saddle of Harrie Smolders. Performing well from a young age, he was runner-up in the World Championships for 6-year-olds before competing at the highest level, winning the 5* Grand Prix in Chantilly and Washington, as well as the Nations Cups in Aachen and Gijon. He also competed in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, where he was a finalist after finishing second in the World Cup final the same year. His offspring continue to impress: Mandato vd Neerheide, Orelie, Nikka vd Bisschop, Ping Pong van de Lentamel, Orelie and Igor are all names that have made their mark at the highest level.

His dam, Nena, is a daughter of the world number one stallion Cornet Obolensky, who enjoyed an incredible career under the saddle of Marco Kutscher. She comes from a line of great international winners such as Vancouver, Gemini, Freya, Zinesse and Ultimo du Château Hollogne Z.
